If you try to compare melee combats in 1st person and 3d person games you'd see that first category doesnt have many games and skyrim is one of the best representatives. 1st person combats tend to be much slower and also have more realistic moves, 3d person tends to be dynamic and spectacular. What is the point of having flashy animations in 1st person if you dont see them anyway? Or adding rolls/dodges when you can only see enemies that are infront of you. Its not the combat with everyone weapon is the same there is more variety in skyrim but it is not better Well, objectively skyrim is 1st person and witcher is 3d person, it makes combat systems different with different aims and features. Yes because kill everyone in 1 hit with a bow is amazing combat. Tell me for example how witcher stealth combat is better than Skyrim? Skyrim has better combat when it comes to archer, mage, shield and sword, duel sword (I think, cant remember), two handed sword, spears, and stealth.
